This painting is part of my River Reflection series – a collection of on-the-spot gouache landscapes I created right by the river near my home. There’s a special spot where, during low tide, water gets trapped between the rugged stones. It mixes with dust and fallen leaves, and when the sunlight hits it, there’s this beautiful shimmer and contrast that really caught my eye. The water forms a thick, saturated layer in some areas, creating a unique texture and depth.
As an artist, I found the whole scene very inspiring – the calm water, the neutral greys, and the reflections of tree branches and rocks. I tried to capture that feeling by applying thick, expressive layers of gouache, focusing on subtle tones and natural textures. The composition itself almost looks like abstract art, though it’s completely based on nature.
The reflection in the water is the heart of this work. This piece is perfect for art collectors, curators, and interior designers looking for original landscape artwork, modern gouache painting, or nature-inspired wall art. It brings a peaceful, earthy vibe and is a great fit for anyone who loves river scenes and minimalist color palettes.
